The annual Youth Leadership Conference was held in Saskatoon at Prairie Land Park in February.

Participants had to fill out an application form, submit a reference letter and be chosen to attend. The lucky 4-H members from across the province attended the two-day event where they were divided into junior and senior groups.

Attending from Northwest clubs were: Codie Yasieniuk, Rayna Yasieniuk, Baylie Yasieniuk- Reigning Riders 4-HC; Cole Reid - Crown Hill 4-H Beef Club; and Riley Yasieniuk - Rockin' H Multiple4-HClub.

The seniors started Saturday and had a mediator teaching everyone about conflict resolution. They were then bused to a hotel for the night and a pizza supper.

Sunday the juniors got to join the group. They were divided up among the senior members and given different group projects to work on. They were also interviewed in a big board room, wrote two exams - one on 4-H general knowledge and one on current events.

The conference wrapped up with a banquet and awards ceremony. The senior group was awarded scholarships, with first place getting $3,000. The junior winner received a gift basket. Everyone hopes to be chosen next year because it was a great weekend everyone learned a lot, made new friends, learned skills that will help out in their life and had a lot of fun.
