MAKWA SAHGAIEHCAN FIRST NATION — Three men have been charged after a robbery, with two of those suspects at large being sought by police.
On Aug. 21, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Loon Lake RCMP received a report of a robbery on Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation.
RCMP have determined two male suspects broke into a residence on the old townsite while a third male suspect remained outside. Police say the suspects, one of whom had a firearm, demanded keys to the occupants’ ATV and fled on the stolen vehicle. The occupants did not report any physical injuries to police.
The stolen ATV is described as a black 2024 CFMOTO CForce 400 ATV with storage boxes on both the front and back of the vehicle.
Twenty-five-year-old Justin Kytwayhat, 34-year-old Owen Kytwayhat and 32-year-old Delaney Mitsuing, all from Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation, are each charged with:
- one count, break and enter with intent, Section 348(1)(b), Criminal Code;
- one count, using an imitation firearm in an offence, Section 85(2)(a), Criminal Code;
- one count, robbery with a weapon, Section 344(1)(b), Criminal Code; and
- two counts, assault with a weapon, Section 267(a), Criminal Code.
Delaney Mitsuing was located and arrested by Loon Lake RCMP on Aug. 25.
Warrants have been issued for the arrest of Justin Kytwayhat and Owen Kytwayhat. Loon Lake RCMP continue work to locate the two males and ask members of the public to report sightings and information on their whereabouts.
Justin Kytwayhat is described as:
- Height: 5’11”
- Weight: 180 lbs
- Eye colour: brown
- Hair colour and style: black
- Other descriptors: scar on right ankle
Owen Kytwayhat is described as:
- Height: 5’9”
- Weight: 160 lbs
- Eye colour: brown
- Hair colour: black
- Other descriptors: multiple tattoos, including numbers on his cheeks, a star above his left eyebrow, and words on his neck.
If you see Justin Kytwayhat or Owen Kytwayhat, do not approach them. Report all sightings and information about their whereabouts, as well as information about the stolen ATV, to Loon Lake RCMP at 310-RCMP.
