55+ Games sport event of the year

Prominent on the list of award recipients is the 55+ Provincial SSFA Games 2016 hosted in North Battleford as sport event of the year.

Also recognized as cultural event of the year is the Walking With Our Sisters exhibit hosted at the Chapel Gallery.

The recipients will receive their awards at a banquet held at the Paradise Hill Community Centre on Tuesday, April 25.

The banquet will begin at 6 p.m. with supper, entertainment and awards presentations to follow.

Others being recognized are:

Sport – Athlete of the Year, Logan Harland (Frenchman Butte); Coach of the Year, Dean Powell (St. Walburg), Steven Trefiak (Paradise Hill) and Trent Marsh (Meadow Lake).

Culture – Development and Promotion, Norma Corrigal (Turtleford); Culture – Event of the Year, Frenchman Butte Museum Society School Tours.

Recreation – Facility Renovated or New Build, Paradise Hill Community Centre.

All-Around Volunteer of the Year - Marion Hougham (Frenchman Butte), Betty and Bob Richardson (Lashburn), Maureen Campbell (Meota), Larry Mohrbutter (Lashburn) and Dale Wells (Loon Lake).
