A government ruling has been made after 12 years of discussion regarding funding for non-Catholic students in separate school divisions.

Not too long ago, Bailie Germs didn’t think much about the Kinistin Education Centre Business Club. “I seriously didn’t see myself even going to more than one meeting,” said Germs, a recent graduate.

The future is bright for the Nipawin Hawks and they got a glimpse at their annual spring camp. “We’re very happy with everything,” said Doug Johnson , the Hawks’ head coach and general manager.

Nipawin will be increasing the amount of dollars it collects from its citizens, as a whole, by 2.2 per cent to fund this year’s budget. The amount it will collect from the general levy will be $4.

The government has reversed a 58 per cent cut – about $400,000 – to the Wapiti Regional Library’s funding. Tony Murphy , the library’s regional director, said they are thrilled with the restoration of funding.

It looks as if the Battlefords Chamber of Commerce could be planning another China trip. At their board meeting Tuesday night the Chamber has agreed to join in a provincial chamber-wide initiative offering a China expedition next year.
