A major travelling art memorial to honour the lives of missing and murdered aboriginal women is due to visit North Battleford in early 2016, and events planned for this month are being held in preparation.

A 38-year-old woman has been charged with trafficking cocaine after an incident early Friday morning. On Sept. 11 at approximately 8:08 a.m.

The Battlefords RCMP are continuing to investigate a shooting incident that occurred in the morning hours of Friday, Sept. 11 in North Battleford that resulted in a “secure and hold” action at North Battleford Comprehensive High School.

\North Battleford fire responded Thursday around 1 p.m. to a motor vehicle collision on Territorial Dr. just north of 8th Avenue. One person was injured in the collision and was transported to hospital by ambulance with undisclosed injuries.

A number of valuable personal items were stolen from a residence in the Paynton area recently. According to RCMP, on Aug. 31 between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

On the morning of Sept. 11, Unity RCMP responded to a report of a stolen truck taken from a business in Macklin. Stolen is a Custom 2005 F350 Lariat (Ford Superduty Truck) with Alberta plate BCR3811.

A new gym being built within the existing footprint of North Battleford Comprehensive High School to accommodate Grade 7 and 9 students could be ready by mid-October.

The Battlefords Beaver Blues Hockey Club wants to serve beer at their home games at the Battleford Arena. A letter to Battleford Town Council asking for their support in the liquor licence application process met with approval by councillors.
