There was no taking it easy over the Christmas interlude for Battlefords RCMP, as officers responded to 50 calls for service/occurrences between 6 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24 and 6 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27.
Among those calls were six false/nuisance 911 calls and three false alarms.
Tuesday
8:42 a.m. - Intoxicated man on 101st Street, reported to be not properly dressed for weather. Patrols initially negative, subject located a short time later after another report.
12:12 p.m. - Vehicle cut off by another vehicle on 110th Street and struck a tree. Driver of vehicle that cut off other car charged with failing to yield under the Traffic Safety Act.
2:30 p.m. - Intoxicated man from 8:42 a.m. claimed to be a victim of a robbery sometime overnight, which included suspects stealing his coat. Two suspects identified and known to victim. Investigation ongoing.
4:00 p.m. - Stolen vehicle from Warman Detachment recovered on Railway Avenue East.
6:57 p.m. - Report of a hit and run on 110th Street. Suspect vehicle later located, driver facing charges of driving without due care or attention and proceeding from a yield sign before safe. No injuries reported in collision.
8:36 p.m. - Unknown/suspicious person knocking on a door on 105th Street. Patrols negative.
10:19 p.m. - Unwanted, intoxicated guest at residence on 106th Street. Subject left when complainant called police and was not located.
11:09 p.m. - Suspicious person at a business, subject was not purchasing anything and appeared to be looking to commit a theft. Members attended and warned the subject to leave.
Wednesday
3:24 a.m. - Attended to residence on 900 block of 106th Street. A 31-year-old woman was suffering from injuries to her face and head after being assaulted with a bottle. The victim's 33-year-old boyfriend has been identified as the suspect had already fled the home prior to members being called to the residence. The victim was transported to hospital by ambulance for treatment of her injuries. The suspect remains at large.
10:02 a.m. - 911 call of an assault at a residence on Trudeau Street. Members attended, no violence, two subjects arguing. One agreed to leave and go elsewhere to avoid any additional problems.
11:09 a.m. - REO Speedwagon complaint. Complainant reporting she heard it from a friend who, heard from a friend who, heard it from another that someone is saying mean stuff about her on Facebook. Members looked into matter, no threats made.
3:03 p.m. - Two vehicles parked on 2200block of 95th Street broken into sometime overnight. No damage to vehicle, small amount of change missing.
3:24 p.m. - 2000 black BMW stolen from Foley Drive. Vehicle locates the following day in the rural area, burned.
3:45 p.m. - Intoxicated man causing a disturbance on 101st Street. 77-year-old man located and arrested for public intoxication. Held in custody until sober.
6:24 p.m. - Intoxicated man causing a disturbance on 100th Street. 23-year-old man arrested and facing charges of failing to comply with a recognizance.
7:30 p.m. - Missing person reported. Tanya Jeannette Lysohirka, 29, of Lloydminster left the hospital against medical advice. She is currently from Lloydminster and is believed to have returned there. She is 5'0" tall, slim, last seen wearing a black toque, black shirt and black pants.
Thursday
2:45 a.m. - Report of a possible domestic dispute on Winder Crescent. Members attended and found it to be an argument. Warned about noise.
12:52 p.m. - False 911 call of an assault on Railway Avenue East.
1:14 p.m. - Second false 911 call, this one of a man with a gun. Both found to be completed by the same person. Suspect located and dealt with.
2:13 p.m. - Man at a residence on 103rd Street threatening to break things. Left when police called and not located. No damage to property reported.
4:44 p.m. - Report of intoxicated man yelling and swearing at people on 101st Street. 77-year-old man located and arrested for public intoxication.
11:35 p.m. - 911 call reporting a man broke a window at a residence on 108th Street. 24-year-old man arrested and facing three counts of breach of probation. Appearing in court Dec. 27 at 9:30 a.m.
Friday
12:07 a.m. - Noise complaint on 102nd Street, found to be kids jumping up and down. Warned about noise, no further complaints received.
1:30 a.m. - Car alarm sounding on 101st Street resulted in arrest of a 16-year-old youth, found to be in possession of stolen property from a number of vehicles. Charges at this time are still pending. Owners of some of the property are yet to be identified.
