Battlefords RCMP say the investigation into an alleged attempted child abduction at the Battlefords Co-op Aquatic Centre Tuesday is ongoing.

Battlefords RCMP say the investigation into an alleged attempted child abduction at the Battlefords Co-op Aquatic Centre Tuesday is ongoing.


Police reported Thursday that all survellance footage from the facility had been reviewed and no one matching the description of the man in question was identified.


Police say report of the alleged incident was responded to at about 7:30 p.m.


According to police, an eight-year-old child was approached by a man, who asked the child to go somewhere with him. It is alleged the man attempted to grab the child at one point when the child did not comply, then left the area in a vehicle.


The suspect is described as aboriginal, with a ponytail, glasses and wearing black swim trunks.


The area and building were searched by members, but no suspects were identified.
