It was an active week last week for emergency crews, who had to respond to a number of incidents.

March 21, North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services responded to a vehicle fire around 3:30 p.m. It turned out, upon arrival, that there was no fire after all: the owner had thought it was smoke from the engine compartment, but in fact the vehicle had over-heated and spilled some anti-freeze onto the hot engine, which caused steam.

The incident happened about four miles north of the city and one apparatus and three fire personnel responded. Also there was the RCMP.

Later that day around 8 p.m., fire crews, the RCMP and WPD Ambulance responded to what was described as an "outside equipment fire" at 10024 Fyfe Ave. The fire in question was at the Co-op Cardlock where a light standard was on fire.

One apparatus and four fire personnel were on the scene, where they successfully extinguished the blaze and cleaned up the debris.

March 22 around 3:21 p.m., emergency crews responded to a motor vehicle accident in which three occupants of the vehicle involved were transported to hospital with undetermined injuries.

The accident took place about two kilometres west of the Prongua hill. The driver of the vehicle reported hitting an accumulation of slush, causing a skid, resulting in a rollover in a ravine adjacent to Highway 40. On the scene were the fire department, WPD Ambulance and the RCMP.
