HUMBOLDT — The Affinity Credit Union locations in Lake Lenore and Muenster have announced that they will be consolidating and relocating to Humboldt, opening in 2023.

According to Affinity, everyone currently working in our Lake Lenore and Muenster Advice Centres will have a spot in the Humboldt location.

Corey Tomporowski, Affinity’s director of advisory services, said they feel Humboldt serves as a “regional economic hub” for the surrounding area, providing services that aren’t in the other communities.

“For us at Affinity it’s actually already home to about 800 of our members,” Tomporowski said. “By making the move into Humboldt it affords us the opportunity to have longer business hours as well as enhanced banking services, getting it up to 37 hours a week.”

Currently, their advice centres operate 25 hours per week in Lake Lenore and Muenster. The new location will also have a walk-up and drive thru ATM.

“It’s certainly a bright, brand-new building, open concept meeting rooms, certainly a change for us in terms of our more traditional footprints for our advice centres. The drive thru ATM is something new for our members in our area, it’s not something that we have everywhere and we’re happy to be able to do that.”

The new location will be on the west end of the city, on the south side of Highway 5.

Affinity employees will work with individuals and businesses in the community over the next few months to identify service options and help them through these changes.

“We’re excited to be there obviously, it will take a little bit to get our building built and whatnot but we’ll continue to work with our existing members to make sure their needs are met and we’re excited to offer a new space here sometime in the next 12 months,” Tomporowski said.
