The Battlefords RCMP responded to approximately 66 calls for service between 6 a.m. Friday, May 15 and 6 a.m. Saturday, May 16. Police are seeking information into the following incidents:
Friday
• Complaint of tires being slashed on three separate vehicles parked at an address on the 1300 block of 95th Street.
• Report of the front entranceway windows being smashed out at St. Vital School in Battleford overnight.
• Complaint of a vehicle being rummaged through overnight while parked at an address on the 1500 block of 97th Street.
• Complaint of tires being slashed on a vehicle parked at an address on the 1300 block of 106th Street overnight.
• Re-occurring issues of young people smoking drugs in an alley off the 800 block of 109th Street. The young people leave garbage etc. all over the ground.
• Report of a break and enter into a shed on the 700 block of 111th Street. It’s unknown if anything taken.
• Complaint of tires being slashed on a vehicle parked at an address on the 1300 block of 97th Street overnight.
• Complaint of break, enter and theft from a residence on the Saulteaux First Nation.
Saturday
• Report of a group of kids hanging around St. Mary’s School. They walked further down the street and proceeded to jump on the hood of a vehicle, damaging it.
• Complaint of assault with a weapon at an address on the 1200 block of 107th Street. The victim and suspect are related to one another. Minor injury to the victim and the incident is still under investigation. Alcohol was a factor in this incident.
• Complaint of an altercation on the Saulteaux First Nation involving sticks, 2x4 lumber and bats. Several people were injured during this incident and were taken to hospital for treatment. Alcohol was a significant factor and the matter is still under investigation.
• Complaint of a male stabbing multiple people with a large knife at an address on the 1500 block of 103rd Street. Members attended and three victims were taken to the hospital for multiple stab wounds. The suspect was located soon after and arrested. Alcohol was a factor in this incident and the matter is still under investigation. The male has been remanded for court Tuesday morning.
The Battlefords RCMP responded to several calls of intoxicated people in public, loud parties and alcohol related disturbances. Other investigations included three 911 Act calls, two false alarm calls, two Mental Health Act calls, 13 traffic related occurrences, four impaired operation of motor vehicle offences and 12 disturbing the peace/municipal bylaw related occurrences.
