Anhydrous ammonia truck collision shuts grid down

At 3:10 p.m. Saturday, North Battleford RCMP said they were assisting on the Iffley Grid Road north of Battleford near Highway 4 with a single vehicle collision involving a semi truck hauling anhydrous ammonia.

At 3:10 p.m. Saturday, North Battleford RCMP said they were assisting on the Iffley Grid Road north of Battleford near Highway 4 with a single vehicle collision involving a semi truck hauling anhydrous ammonia.  

The collision was reported initially after 1 p.m. and there wasbelieved to be no leaking of product.  

RCMP said clean up crews were on site transferring the product safely to another tanker. 

Local traffic on the grid road was being re-routed as a precaution with investigators on site to ensure there is no leak and no environmental damage. The clean was expected to be complete later Friday afternoon.

No one was injured.
The investigation is ongoing.
