Another adjournment, further bail report update ordered in arson case

The latest court date in the Jan. 3 apartment fire case was before provincial court in North Battleford Thursday.

NORTH BATTLEFORD - There has been another adjournment for a co-accused in connection to the Jan. 3 apartment fire on 102nd Street.

Matters for Keeanu Crookedneck were back before North Battleford provincial court Thursday. It has been adjourned to Feb. 4 at 11 a.m. in provincial court, to allow time for an update to the bail verification report. Judge Dan O'Hanlon has ordered an update to the report to verify when a landline can be installed at the proposed place of residence for the accused. The next court date is for a potential show cause hearing, with the defence seeking Crookedneck's release on electronic monitoring.

Crookedneck's attendance was waived for this latest court date. Crookedneck faces charges of arson as well as arson with disregard for human life. Co-accused Naomi Jean Yellowtail is also facing charges and is due back in court Feb. 1.
