ARBORFIELD — An Arborfield won $250,000 from a lucky ticket bought at Tisdale’s Lacroix Drug.
Cheri Turcotte bought the Lotto Max ticket with the winning Extra Dec. 22, but it sat in her purse until she checked it in April.
Turcotte said she usually buys lottery tickets when she fuels up her vehicle, but she often forgets to check her older tickets.
“I had a bunch of tickets in my purse, so I decided to scan them on the WCLC Mobile App,” she said in a media release. “The last ticket I checked was the winner.”
The happy winner said she was shocked to see the prize amount on her phone’s screen.
“I couldn’t believe it,” said Turcotte. “I probably scanned that ticket 20 times, and then I took it to the store and scanned it again just to be sure.”
Asked what she plans to do with her windfall, Turcotte said she has a couple of ideas to get her started.
“I’m going to pay off some bills and put some away, for sure,” she said. “I’m also thinking of taking a vacation with my family.”
