Armed robbery at the Wheatfield Inn bar

KITSCOTY, Alta. — A bar employee was bear sprayed during an armed robber of the Wheatfield Inn bar Tuesday at about 4:30 p.m.

Kitscoty RCMP say a lone man had entered the bar through the back door and sat briefly at a VLT terminal. The man then went to the till and asked the bartender for change. As the bartender opened the cash drawer, the man produced a can of bear spray and demanded money.

Police say during an ensuing struggle the bartender was sprayed in the face. The man fled the bar with an undisclosed amount of cash.

He is described as thin, Caucasian, 5' 10’ to six feet in height, balding with a shaved head. The man was observed fleeing in a smaller white SUV with Saskatchewan plates.
