The RCMP White Butte Detachment has been investigating what is now believed to be a travelling group of males that have been representing themselves as a small paving company.

Over the last month or two, the suspects have been popping up in communities and going door to door saying they are a paving companythat has leftover asphalt from a nearby job. Police say they then offerpaving services at a reduced rate. They do a portion of the work then get the victim to give them a large portion of the agreed price, saying they will return the next day to finish the job but do not return.

RCMP say there are believed to be at least seven victims from Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba to date.

The perpetrator is described as approximately 50 years of age and as 5' 8" tall with light brown hair and weighing 175 lbs. He uses the first name of Pat, police say. He and his accomplice speak with Irish accents. Police say they have no description on the second male.

Theperpetrators were last seen traveling in a white Dodge Ram truckthat is believed to be stolen.
