An attempted murder charge against a Tisdale man has been stayed, meaning the crown is discontinuing the prosecution.
Kevin Yelland was charged with attempted murder, choking to overcome resistance, aggravated assault and uttering threats after Tisdale RCMP responded to a complaint from a 70-year-old woman July 29. He was in Tisdale Provincial Court Dec. 19.
The choking to overcome resistance charge has also been stayed.
Yelland pled not guilty to aggravated assault, but pled guilty to common assault. He also pled guilty to uttering threats.
Yelland has received a conditional discharge and is on probation for 15 months. If he makes it through the probation without violating any conditions, he won’t have a criminal record.
