Attempted robbery investigated

Battlefords RCMP are investigating an attempted robbery in the area of 17th Avenue and 102nd Street, which occurred at approximately 7:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27.

RCMP say the female victim was walking alone in the area when a male approached her, pushed her down and attempted to steal her purse. There was a brief struggle before the man was scared off by witnesses who noticed the struggle and came to the victim's aid, according to the police.

The victim was not injured in the attack and the suspect did not make off with any of her property.

The suspect has been described as aboriginal, wearing all dark clothing with a slim build and no facial hair.
