Awards honour NWRC graduates

Students from the North West Regional College skills training program celebrated their graduation April 19.

Students from the North West Regional College skills training program celebrated their graduation April 19.

Taking part were the aboriginal community development, business certificate, early childhood education, office education, youth care worker and welding classes.

Receiving awards in the office education class were Brittany Campbell, who received the academic achievement award, Breanna Spence, who received the "fastest fingers" award and Corie Delorme, who received the instructor's award. Tyler Bilanski received the academic achievement award for the welding program.

In the business certificate program, Charmaine Bear received the instructor's award and Alysha Gory earned the academic achievement award.

Vera Krismer, one of the instructors of the Aboriginal community development class, awarded Roberta Swindler with the academic achievement award and gave the instructor's award to Marcella Bird and Krista Fox. Roberta Swindler also received the Indian Health Services Award.

In the youth care worker class, Renee White, Amanda Sterling and Billy-Joe Starr received awards. Starr also delivered the student address for the event.

Finally, Trudy Wright and Cheyenne Tuckanow earned the academic achievement awards, and Jacey Milman received the instructor's award in the early childhood education class.

Dakota Haluk received the Sara Balla Award for excellence.
