It was a slow start for the Battlefords Barons Sunday against the Meadow Lake Stampeders in Centre Four League play, but a fast finish.

A first-period Stampeders goal was their high point of the game. From that point it was all downhill as the Barons fired four straight goals into the Meadow Lake net and won going away 4-1 in Midget AA hockey action at North Battleford Civic Centre.

The lone Stampeders goald was scored by Dalano Tipewan from Brian Iron at 6:35 of the first period. But two goals, one by Braydon Chalifour and the second unassisted by Carl Cammidge, put the Barons ahead to stay.

Shots on goal were 18-5 Barons during what had been a tough and fight-filled first period, with three players sent off with penalties following a brawl that erupted after Cammidge scored.

In the second period Logan Nachtegaele scored a power play marker from Justin Johannesen to make it 3-1 midway through the frame.

The fourth and final Barons goal was scored by Jordon Henri from Carl Cammidge with 4:31 remaining to round out a dominant performance by the Barons.

Final shots on goal were 36 for the Barons and just 13 for the Stampeders on the afternoon.
