Battleford man gets 30 days for voyeurism

Edward Ilnicki will be on the Sex Offender Registry for 10 years

NORTH BATTLEFORD - A Battleford man was given jail time and put on the Sex Offender Registry for 10 years after pleading guilty to voyeurism.

Edward Ilnicki, 54, will serve 30 days intermittently starting Oct. 8. He was also given three months probation and must submit his DNA to the National DNA Data Bank.

Ilnicki was charged in July 7, 2020, after North Battleford RCMP received a complaint that a woman and a female youth were shown unsolicited and inappropriate material on a mobile device.

When police searched the device they found a photo of a woman, which seemed to be taken without her knowledge. Battlefords RCMP GIS investigated and determined the photo was taken at a private residence. Police executed a search warrant. As a result, Ilnicki was further charged with voyeurism.

Charges of making sexually explicit material available to a child were withdrawn.
