According to RCMP, an Tuesday, Dec. 17, at approximately 9 a.m., members of the Battlefords Gang Task Force were on patrol and came across a vehicle being operated by suspect known to have warrants for his arrest.
RCMP tried to the stop the vehicle and it immediately fled. RCMP did not pursue it.
A short time later, the vehicle was located at a residence on the 1800 block of 91st Street. Officers along with the Police Service Dog followed tracks from the vehicle to a residence on 91st Street. Officers spoke with the occupants at the house and were able to locate and arrest the driver of the vehicle without incident.
Inside the vehicle, RCMP located a significant amount of cocaine and crack cocaine.
The investigation into this matter is continuing and police have laid charges against Trent Angus, 30, of Edmonton, Alta., who is charged with flight from police, dangerous operation of a vehicle, possession of stolen property, possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and numerous charges of failing to comply with an undertaking of a judge.
Angus will appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on Dec. 19 at 9:30 a.m.
