BATTLEFORD — An adult male has been charged with firearms offences after the Battlefords Gang Task Force executed a search warrant in Battleford.

Police searched a residence in the 400-block 33rd Street and seized a sawed-off shotgun and ammunition.

Jordan Armstrong, 45, has been charged with the following:

  • Possession of a prohibited firearm without a licence;
  • Possession of a prohibited firearm with readily accessible ammunition;
  • Possession of a firearm while unauthorized;
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
  • Unsafe storage of a firearm.

A female was also arrested in the residence. She has been held for court on one new charge and several outstanding warrants not related to this investigation.

Armstrong has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on Sept. 26.
