An interfaith gathering and prayer has been announced for the Battlefords Mosque on Friday, Feb. 3 between the hours of 6 and 8 pm.

The gathering has been organized in response to the shootings at "The Centre Culturel Islamique de Quebec & Mosque” on Jan. 29.

An invitation has been extended to all citizens of the City of North Battleford & Town of Battleford to the prayer which is being held at Battlefords Mosque at 1761-99th Street in North Battleford.

According to organizers it will be a quiet event, with participants asked to keep the space quiet and reflective, with no instruments being used and for any singing to be done quietly.

People will be invited to sign a book of condolences, light a candle, and spend time in private prayer and reflection. The condolence book will be mailed to the mosque in Quebec City.

There are no plans for a formal service at that event, but organizers are welcoming those who wish to present words of prayer and reflection. Individuals or small groups wishing to speak will be given five-minute slots.
