THE BATTLEFORDS — Battlefords RCMP responded to 539 calls for service from Wednesday, May 4, through Tuesday, May 10.

Seven missing persons reported

One investigation is currently active.

• Update: Jessica Fox has been located.

• Update: Tanya Armstrong has been located.

23 assault investigations

• Police located a vehicle wanted in connection to a robbery in Wetaskiwin, Alta., on Trudeau Street in North Battleford shortly before noon on May 8. The male subject wanted in connection with the robbery was located nearby and assaulted the responding members when placed under arrest. He was taken into custody after a brief struggle with the responding officers, one of whom sustained minor injuries. The 28 man, is facing charges of assaulting a police officer x 2, resisting arrest x 2, mischief ad possession of stolen property.

• A 52-year-old woman from Meadow Lake was dropped off at the hospital in North Battleford in the early morning hours of May 7 suffering from a large laceration to her face. The location of offence or any other circumstances surrounding the incident have yet to be determined.

• Report of an assault with a weapon at a residence on the Mosquito First Nation on the evening of May 9. Victim reported being threatened by another female in possession of a knife before the suspect fled the area. No injuries reported. Investigation is ongoing, charges are pending at this time.

• Police were called to a residence on Trudeau Street in North Battleford shortly after 1 p.m. on May 10. A 31-year-old male was taken to hospital suffering non-life-threatening injuries from an edged weapon. Investigation is ongoing.

Nine break and enter investigations

• Report of a break and enter to an apartment on 111th Street in North Battleford at 10:55 a.m. on May 5. Members attended and located a male sleeping inside the residence. The 46-year-old male was arrested without incident and is facing one count of break and enter.

• Report of a currently vacant home on 98th Street broken into some time in early morning of May 6th.

• Report of a residence on the Moosomin First Nation broken into on evening of May 6 or early morning of May 7. A stereo was reported stolen.

• Tools and a generator were reported stolen after a break and enter to a garage on the 100 block of 26th Street in Battleford on the evening of May 7 or early morning hours of May 8.

Eight vehicle thefts

• A black 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Saskatchewan licence 817 MAN was reported stolen from Poplar Crescent in Aquadeo shortly after 8:30 p.m. on May 8.

• Call of several individuals in a vehicle on the 1000 block of 101st Street in North Battleford on May 4 at 8:25 p.m., one of whom was reported to have pointed a firearm at a building before fleeing the area. The suspect vehicle was located a short time afterward and four persons were arrested without incident. A replica handgun airgun was seized at the time of arrest. One of the persons arrested on scene was later released without charges. Three others (two aged 19 and one aged 18) were held in custody and appeared in court on May 5. Charges included possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, pointing a firearm and breach of probation.

• Police were notified of an individual who was alleged to be attempting to sell firearms stolen from the Blaine Lake area. The suspect was located in a vehicle on Railway Avenue East in North Battleford in the late afternoon of May 6 in a vehicle. Two firearms linked in to a break and enter reported earlier that day in the Blaine Lake district were recovered along with some ammunition and a cell phone. A 36-year-old male from Regina is charged with weapons trafficking, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm in a vehicle, and possession of a weapon obtained by crime. He is also facing additional charges from the Blaine Lake RCMP.

• Police responded to an armed and barricaded person complaint in North Battleford on the afternoon of Sunday May 8 on Killdeer Drive in North Battleford. A media notice was made to alert to public to avoid the area until the matter was resolved shortly after 6:30 p.m. One subject was taken into custody. The matter remains under investigation, and a further update will be made once a determination on charges has been finalized.
