Nominations close this week for the annual Battlefords Business Excellence (BBEX) Awards.
Nominations are due in at the Battlefords Chamber of Commerce by Friday, July 25. Awards are open to all businesses in the city of North Battleford, town of Battleford and surrounding area in a 50 km radius.
Nominations are in seven categories: Heritage, New Business Venture, Marketing, Micro Business, Community Contribution, Customer Service and Business of the year. The awards will be held Oct. 7.
Nomination kits are available online at www.battlefordschamber.com or at the Chamber office.
Changes were made in the award categories for the Battlefords Business Excellence Awards taking place in 2012. The Export Achievement category was replaced by a Micro Business (fewer than five employees) category.
The BBEX committee of the time said the new Micro Business category would "highlight and award excellence for a small storefront or home based business that has demonstrated significant business achievement, sustainable performance, a high level of customer service, innovation, unique differentiation and community involvement."
It was felt the category would highlight the growth and development of many new and strong business ventures in the community.
