Two youths who pled guilty to aggravated assault in connection to a bear spray attack on another youth in North Battleford are going to be behind bars.
The two were sentenced Tuesday in North Battleford provincial court. One youth received a sentence of 12 months in custody while the other received a sentence of 14 months in custody. Both must also serve several months in the community.
The two youths, one 15 and the other 17, cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Along with a third youth who was arrested later, they were charged in a June attack on a 16-year-old and 14-year old in North Battleford, with the 16-year-old sustaining life-threatening injuries.
The third youth charged in the case appeared in court Aug. 1 and is due back in court later this month.
