B’fords RCMP Weekly Report: Arrests after house struck with gunfire

THE BATTLEFORDS — Battlefords RCMP responded to 458 calls for service during the time span of Wednesday, Dec. 14 through Tuesday Dec. 20.

Six vehicle thefts

Green 2005 Pontiac Montana with Saskatchewan licence 414MDI reported stolen from a residence on the Sweetgrass First Nation on the morning of Dec. 20.

Shortly after 7 a.m. Dec. 20 a van was reported stolen from 105th Street in North Battleford. The vehicle was recovered later the same morning and three 17-year-old youths were arrested. All three have since been charged with possession of stolen property and are scheduled to make their first court appearances in the new year.

Four Individuals charged with impaired driving

911 call of a vehicle driving on the wrong side of the highway on Highway 4 south of Battleford just before midnight Dec 15. The vehicle was located and the driver found to be under the influence of alcohol and also provided police with a false name. A 57-year-old woman is facing charges of impaired driving, driving while over .08 and identity fraud. She is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 13.

Eight mischief investigations

Report of shots being fired at a residence on the 800 block of 10th Street in North Battleford at approximately 11 a.m. on Dec. 15. Able to confirm at the home was struck at least once by suspects who fled in a vehicle. The suspect vehicle was located a short time later at a residence on 102nd Street. Seven individuals were arrested without incident and a firearm was recovered by police. The incident remains under investigation and charges have not yet been laid.  

A vehicle stop on the 900 block of 101st Street in North Battleford at 9 p.m. on Dec. 15 has resulted in several charges after police recovered several firearms and a quantity of suspected methamphetamine. Four arrests were made, three of whom have since been charged. Two charged individuals were remanded into custody and made their first appearances Dec. 19.
