Big River woman killed in pedestrian-vehicle collision

Big River RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.

BIG RIVER FIRST NATION — The death of a Big River First Nation woman is the third reported incident of pedestrians being fatally struck by vehicles this month in Saskatchewan.

On July 16, at approximately 10:40 p.m., Big River RCMP received a report of a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian on Big River First Nation.

Officers responded immediately along with local EMS, STARS, and Big River First Nation Community Safety Officers. The pedestrian was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. She has been identified as a 22-year-old female from Big River First Nation. Her family has been notified.

The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene.
