The Biggar RCMP laid charges July 9 in relation to a bus collision in February.

A 63-year-old Biggar man was charged with driving without due care and attention based on section 213 (1) of the Traffic Safety Act. He will make his first court appearance in Biggar Provincial Court Aug. 6.

The man was driving a school bus that was involved in a collision which resulted in the death of Monica Domes, 39, from the Biggar area.

Biggar RCMP reported Domes had exited the parked Ford F250 pulling a cattle trailer that was on the side of the highway facing north off the northbound lane 24 kilometres north of Biggar. The truck was struck from behind by a 38-passenger school bus with three children on board.

An adult male was still in the truck and was uninjured. He was waiting for assistance with a mechanical issue, according to the RCMP.

RCMP later confirmed Domes was the mother of two of the children on the bus.
