Catholic Family Services hosted a Charity Dinner and Auction Saturday at the Tropical Inn.

The 20th annual event was promoted as "An Evening In Black and White," with black and white colors and silver disco balls prominent throughout the ballroom during the event. The event celebrated the work of Catholic Family Services in the community in providing counselling, group programming, short and long term planning for children and in home support services, to over 2,400 individuals.

Jay Crockett was MC for the event and he was joined by Kim Kramer of Kramer Auction Services who conducted the live auction, accepting bids from the audience on the many items up for auction. In total, 20 items were up for bid during the live auction and there were 46 items available as part of the silent auction.

Among the more interesting items up for bid was an autographed Saskatchewan Roughriders plaque, a Broil King propane gas barbecue, as well as a vintage Winnipeg Jets jersey autographed by Bobby Hull, the Golden Jet. The most impressive item up for bid, though, was a 2006 canary yellow Chevy Cobalt LT two-door courtesy of Rainbow Toyota.
