Christmas is a time of fellowship, love and celebration. The Blaine Lake senior citizens' Christmas supper event hosted 100 supporters Dec. 2, in honour of the holiday season.

Marj Pool welcomed guests and expressed gratitude on behalf of the senior membership for the support given throughout the year and again during the cash lotto.

Following a bountiful catered supper, local entertainment was provided by Jason Lee, who played a selection of musical items on his aaccordion. His renditions of both Christmas songs and old-time favourites had the audience singing and tapping toes. A Christmas sing-a-long was also held as Connie Weimer accompanied on piano. Doreen Kalmakoff, Della Konkin and Kevin Koop presented a comical skit depicting a scene in a rural doctor's office.

The Blaine Lake & District Chamber of Commerce held a Christmas wreath silent auction during the course of the evening and acknowledged the seniors for the opportunity to do so. A total of 12 wreaths, decorated by local businesses and organizations, were on offer.

It was an evening of friendship, laughter and best wishes for a blessed Merry Christmas.
