Body turns out to be passed-out drunk

North Battleford RCMP received approximately 60 calls between 6 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5 and 6 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 6.

Saturday

• A vehicle windshield was smashed out during the night on the 1200 block of 110th Street.

• Someone had a friend take their vehicle without permission around 1 p.m. and did not want that friend charged with taking the vehicle. The owner had the car immobilized and the RCMP was able to locate it in Lloydminster and return the keys to the owner.

• There was a complaint of theft from a business on Territorial Drive at 7:54 p.m. Officers attended and located two intoxicated men, ages 46 and 32, who had items stolen from the store. They were both charged with theft. The 46-year-old man was released from custody when he was sober with a scheduled court date and the 32-year-old man was remanded in custody for court Tuesday morning, as he was also charged with breaching his probation order.

• Someone reported there was a body next to her house on 99th Street at 8:15 p.m. Officers attended and located an intoxicated man who had been passed out asleep on the caller’s property. He was charged with breaching conditions to abstain from alcohol and was held in custody until he was sober and released for court at a later date.

• A theft was reported from a business on 101st Street just after 9 p.m. The incident is still being investigated.

Sunday

• An officer located a vehicle swerving on Highway 4 South around 2 a.m. The vehicle was stopped and the driver, a 35-year-old woman gave the arresting officer a fake name. She was charged with impaired driving and also obstruction for providing a fake name and she was held for court Tuesday.

• There was a complaint at 3:33 a.m. on Red Pheasant First Nation of a hit and run involving a red Ford SUV and the occupants of it had bear mace. Suspects have been identified and the event is under investigation.

• A business on Poundmaker First Nation was broken into around 4:30 a.m. and a red Ford SUV was associated with it. Suspects have been identified and charges are pending.

• A red Ford SUV was reported stolen from Meadow Lark Lane sometime during the previous night. Officers located it and arrested a male youth and a female youth in connection with the stolen vehicle. Charges are pending for both youth.

There were 15 disturbances reported, five traffic complaints, two nuisance 911 calls, six false alarms and one person reported missing who has been located.
