Boozed up residents keep police busy

North Battleford RCMP had an active 24 hours, responding to more than 30 calls for service/occurrences between 6 a.m. Thursday, July 17 and 6 a.m. Friday, July 19.


Among those were two traffic related matters, four false/nuisance 911 calls and two municipal bylaw/noise complaints.


Thursday


8:22 a.m. - Report of an assault at a residence on 102nd Street. Caller sustained minor injuries in the incident and has not been co-operative in initial investigation, which is still ongoing. Suspect and victim are known to each other.


9:00 a.m. - 33-year-old man arrested and facing charges of uttering threats after several alleged threats to do harm to a group of first responders. Man is in custody set to appear on these charges as well as charges relating to a domestic assault the previous evening in the town of Battleford. First appearance scheduled for Friday.


9:02 a.m. - Two youth in open custody reported to have run away from a scheduled outing in the city. Last seen on Clements Drive. Both males, ages 14 and 17, have warrants for their arrests for being unlawfully at large and have not yet been located.


10:33 a.m. - Vehicle window damaged while parked in alley off the 900 block of 106th Street sometime during the previous night.


12:11 p.m. - Break and enter to a residence on 101st Street reported. Suspect believed to be an acquaintance of the complainant. Investigation still ongoing.


2:00 p.m. - 46-year-old man last seen July 8 reported missing. Dean Cordell Spokes is described as being about 6'1", thin, with blue eyes and brown hair. He resides in Saskatoon but was visiting family in the city. May be driving a grey 2007 Pontiac Torrent with Saskatchewan License 582 IQX. At this point there is not believed to be anything suspicious. Anyone with any information on subject's location is asked to contact the North Battleford RCMP at 306-446-1720.


2:07 p.m. - 39-year-old man arrested and charged with failing to comply with undertaking after report of intoxicated man sleeping on 101st Street.


3:55 p.m. - Certified patient reported missing from mental health. Located by members shortly after 7 p.m. and returned.


4:43 p.m. - 32-year-old man facing new charge of failing to comply with an undertaking after failing to report as per court conditions. 


5:36 p.m. - Ford F150 with Saskatchewan License 8R406 reported stolen on July 16 recovered on 96th Street. Found abandoned.


7:23 p.m. - 911 call of an assault at Kramer place. Upon arrival both the alleged suspect and complainant were not at the residence or in the area. Further attempts to locate both unsuccessful. Investigation ongoing.


9:18 p.m. - Report of intoxicated man sleeping on a bench off Railway Avenue East. 45-year-old man located, arrested and facing charge of causing a disturbance.


11:00 p.m. - Members called to residence on Trudeau to remove an intoxicated man known to complainant but does not live there. Just came into home and went to sleep. Man located and removed from residence. Once outside on the street the man became violent with attending members, and was taken into custody. A 35-year-old man is facing one count of resisting arrest and will be appearing in North Battleford Provincial Court Friday.


11:42 p.m. - Report of a couple of groups of individuals on 100th Street fighting. Patrols of area negative as all appeared to have left area.


11:56 p.m. - Report of a group of girls fighting on 101st Street. One subject located still in area, found to be intoxicated with outstanding warrants. Arrested an 18-year-old who is also facing two new charges of breach of probation.


Friday


12:49 a.m. - Report of intoxicated man passed out in a vehicle on 101st Street. 48-year-old man arrested on scene and charged under the Liquor Act. No keys to vehicle located during arrest.


1:00 a.m. - Two suspects reported trying to gain access to a vehicle parked on Ross crescent. No entry gained, no damage to vehicle. Patrols of area negative.


1:03 a.m. - 16-year-old woman arrested for causing a disturbance by being intoxicated, found causing a scene on 11th Avenue.


1:13 a.m. - Intoxicated suspect reported breaking a beer bottle on the steps of residence on Ross Crescent and then entering home to sleep. Ran off when confronted. Limited description provided other then an adult man.


1:42 a.m. - Suspect reported trying to kick a door in on 112th Street. 22-year-old man arrested on scene, facing charges of mischief and resist arrest. To appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on Friday.


5:42 a.m. - Caller advising he had a confrontation with a man earlier in the night that ended up in a fist fight. Then the man left and came back with a shovel, which ended up in another confrontation then the man left again. Then the man left and came back with a gun before leaving a third time and now the man is sending complainant nasty text messages which is why he finally decided to call the police. Complainant, however, doesn't want police to do anything. Complaint appears to have been largely fabricated and there appears to have been significant amounts of alcohol consumed by all parties involved.
