RCMP are reporting that Friday, March 11 between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m., suspects broke into the RM of Paynton shop where a 2016 white Dodge Ram was stolen.
Also stolen was an Acer laptop computer. A sea can outside of the shop was also broken into.
Afterwards, the suspects went to another shop down the road and stole a flat deck trailer.
They then tried to flee the area, but didn't crank their trailer jack fully and that caused some damage to the town roads.
RCMP say the suspects managed to drive to the east entrance to Paynton, at which point they lost control of their vehicle and trailer. Police say the white Dodge Ram was found in the ditch outside of Paynton, while the damaged trailer was left behind right in the middle of the east access road to Paynton and Highway 16.
Also, Maidstone RCMP are investigating a theft that happened between 8 and 10 p.m. March 3 at the Maidstone bar. An unidentified male stole a patron’s Samsung Galaxy cellphone and left the establishment. The RCMP is asking for assistance in identifying the suspect.
