Wednesday, Oct. 12 at approximately 9 p.m. Battlefords RCMP responded to a complaint of a break and enter involving a firearm on the Red Pheasant First Nation.
According to the police, individuals entered a residence with a firearm and demanded money. They then fled the scene in a vehicle. One shot was allegedly fired at the residence when the suspects left, however no one was physically injured during this incident. This incident is not believed to be a random occurrence, police say.
Micheal Abel, 25, 28-year-old Andrew Lasas, 29-year-old Tia Paskimin, 19-year-old Charlotte Wuttunee and 27-year-old Sabrina Johnson have been all charged with break and enter, robbery using a firearm, being disguised with intent to commit an offence, uttering threats, assault with a weapon, pointing a firearm, careless use of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm and mischief under $5,000.
All of the accused are in custody and appeared in North Battleford provincial court Friday Oct. 14.
