It has been confirmed that Humboldt Broncos athletic therapist Dayna Brons has died in hospital, bringing the overall death toll from the Broncos bus crash to 16.
Brons had been in critical condition since the crash on Friday night. In a statement Wednesday, the family said she died that afternoon from her injuries.
A native of Marysburg and a graduate of the University of Regina Kinesiology department, Brons was the lone female among the victims on the bus.
Wednesday afternoon the Office of the Chief Coroner confirmed the death of Dayna Brons, 24-year-old female from Lake Lenore.
At this time, Ms. Brons' family are asking for privacy from both the media and concerned community members.
The Coroner's Office and the RCMP extend their deepest sympathies to the families and friends of those who lost their lives as well as those who were involved in the collision.
