Building permits up in November; values down

It was a mixed bag for business permits in November in North Battleford. Permit numbers were up for the month with 16 issued in total, up eight from November 2009.

Permit numbers were up for the month with 16 issued in total, up eight from November 2009. But permit values were down for the month, to $716,500, compared to $3,534,800 for the same month last year.

Overall, permit numbers continue to be outstanding overall, with 151 permits issued for $39,785,300 through November. That compares to 145 permits for $24,086,250 for the same period last year.

Leading the way were six removal/demolition permits issued for the month for a total of $69,000. As well, one permit was issued for new condo units for a value of $472,500 and four residential/carport permits were issued for $76,000.

Two garage/carport permits were issued for $51,000. One industrial alteration permit was issued for $35,000 and two sign permits were issued for $13,000.

There were no new dwelling permits issued in November. However, numbers for the year still outpace 2009, as 28 new dwelling permits have been issued for $6,940,000. That compares to 15 permits for $3,676,000 last year for the same period.
