North Battleford council has given its stamp of approval to the establishment of 58 bus stops as part of the overhaul of the city's transit system.

The bus stops were approved Jan. 23.

The stops are part of the new city wide route map of the North Battleford transit system, which brought in two new buses as part of a restructuring in October.

Mayor Ian Hamilton remarked that the new route map provided "great coverage" to the city and outlying areas.

The City is also planning to step up marketing efforts for the revamped transit system. They plan to publish the locations of the proposed bus route and stop locations through posters and pamphlets, according to a memo from planning technologist Lars Ketilson dated Jan. 19. The posters and pamphlets will be found at City Hall, the malls, medical clinics, grocery stores and others.

Also in the works is the purchase and installation of new bus stop signs, which according to Ketilson's memo are estimated to cost $18,500.
