The online business survey being conducted by the city of North Battleford is now well under way.
The survey is being done to take the pulse of business in the city and find out the needs, perspectives of local businesses, labour opportunities and needs, increase retention and competitiveness and ensure a strong local economy. Surveys are to be submitted by July 17. A final report is to come in August.
Director of Business Development Denis Lavertu noted to council Monday there has been "very good" response, with about 100 so far.
The response is split between the retail/service sector and the industrial sector, he noted. Lavertu says he is also conducting direct one-on-one interviews with businesses. He has 18 set up and plans to do upwards of 25.
"Some good trends are already starting to be seen," said Lavertu, who estimates by mid-July there should be some good information to help with their work plans for the next year.
