Businesses experience theft and shoplifting

Between 6 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18 and 6 a.m.Wednesday, Aug. 19 North Battleford RCMP received approximately 50 calls for service

Tuesday, Aug. 18

• There was vandalism reported to a building on Moosomin First Nation that would have occurred during the previous night. The matter is still being investigated.

• Someone reported at 3:53 p.m. that his common law was trying to leave their residence in a vehicle and had concerns about her driving, as she was intoxicated. Officers attended before the woman could drive away and mediated the situation.

• A 30-year-old male turned himself in to the RCMP detachment at 11:11 p.m. because he knew he had a warrant. The male was intoxicated and had a probation order with conditions not to consume alcohol. He was given a new charge for breaching his probation order and was held for court in the morning to deal with the warrant and new charge.

• There was a report of a theft from a business on 100th Street at 11:36 p.m. The incident is still under investigation.

• A Community Safety Officer stopped a vehicle around 8:30 p.m. and the driver had a suspended license. The vehicle was impounded for 60 days, as the driver had been consuming alcohol.

Wednesday, Aug. 19 

• A business on 27th Avenue was broken into at 12:12 a.m. The suspect damaged a window to gain entry and set off an alarm.

• An officer located an intoxicated driver on 104th Street at 2:43 a.m.

In addition, there were fifteen disturbances reported, one minor collision, three traffic complaints, and one false alarm.
