Businesses stung by fraudulent credit card use

Battlefords RCMP responded to more than 30 calls for service between 6 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16 and 6 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17.

Monday, Jan. 16

2:54 p.m. - Fraudulent use of a credit card that has been occurring for the last two months in various businesses in area reported. 

3:02 p.m. - Report of an individual in an older model Pontiac Grand Am shooting firecrackers out of the vehicle in a parking lot off Territorial Drive. 

4:15 p.m. - Report of an assault which occurred over the previous weekend in the city of North Battleford. Victim and accused appear to know each other. No arrests yet have been made and matter remains under investigation.

8:59 p.m. - Report of subject being threatened through phone calls to a residence in North Battleford. 

Tuesday, Jan. 17

3:36 a.m. - A 2014 green Ford F250 crew cab with Saskatchewan licence 290 KGH reported stolen from the 100 block of 28th Street West in Battleford.

5:19 a.m. - Man reported to have stolen the charity box at a business on the 1700 block of 100th Street in North Battleford. Suspect described as being in his 40s, wearing a black hoodie, grey cap and black jeans. 

Police also responded to four false/nuisance 911 calls, eight minor disturbances, two collisions, two alarms, one child welfare complaint, two Mental Health Act matters and three traffic complaints.
