Busy Friday for NBFES

A grass fire, two vehicle crashes and yet another unattended cooking pot kept North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services personnel busy Friday. The cooking pot filled an apartment at 106 - 1921 St. Laurent Dr. at just after 6 p.m.

A grass fire, two vehicle crashes and yet another unattended cooking pot kept North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services personnel busy Friday.

The cooking pot filled an apartment at 106 - 1921 St. Laurent Dr. at just after 6 p.m. Firefighters spent 20 minutes clearing smoke from the residence.

Just after 9:30 p.m. a pickup truck and a motorcycle collided at the intersection of Highway 40 and Highway 16. No injuries were reported.

At about 10 p.m. a small grass fire was reported on Airport Road between Territorial Drive and the airport itself. NBFES reports the fire spread from the ditch into a field. The cause of the blaze that kept four firefighters on the scene for a half hour has not been determined.

At 11 p.m. four firefighters responded to a report of a vehicle fire in the parking lot of A & M Autopro on Railway Avenue. Officials says the cause of the blaze is suspicious and remains under investigation.
