Busy weekend for emergency crews

It was a busy last few days for local emergency and fire crews responding to a number of minor incidents.

Feb. 6, North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services report they responded to alarms ringing at a house on Clark Drive. It turned out a pot was left on a stove and set off the alarm and there was no fire at the scene. One apparatus and three firefighters responded to the incident, which took place shortly before 10 p.m.

Saturday, NBFES reported that fire crews responded around 2:30 a.m. to a call about a smoking power box at the rear of a home on the 2100 block of Douglas Avenue. Firefighters discovered a residential power supply box on the alley side of the property that was smoking or arcing. SaskPower responded and isolated the equipment, and worked towards restoring power to those customers affected. There were no injuries and only minor heat damage to the fencing.

Later that day around 8:55 a.m. fire crews responded to a motor vehicle accident at Forest Hall Road and Highway 4. According to NBFES, a truck had collided with a grader at that location.

No injuries were reported but the truck sustained extensive damage.
