The Canadian Legion of Riders made another major donation to the Unmarked Graves Project at the North Battleford Legion Tuesday night.

The Canadian Legion of Riders is a motorcycling organization who decided years ago to use motorcycle rides to fundraise for different charities. Bernie Levasseur, along with Don Bush, Glenn Kulyk and Jim Giefer, organized the first annual "Ride for a Vet" in 2002. The years since have seen them raise money through fundraisers to mark the currently unmarked graves of veterans.

This year, members of the current executive, including Jack Tatchell, Kevin Jones, Kim Donahue and Buff McGovern, gave a cheque for $7,000 to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 70, which will go towards marking seven unmarked graves. The current president of the Canadian Legion of Riders, George Cody, could not attend the cheque presentation because he was on holiday in Hawaii.

The donation leaves 12 graves that remain to be marked.
