Here is the latest update from the City of North Battleford on capital construction projects work going on around the city:

17th Avenue – 105th to 107th Street: Roadway reconstruction is underway and continued this week as structural granular courses are constructed and concrete repairs are made. Paving work is to follow. G & C Asphalt is doing the work and the completion date is expected to be July 21.    Meanwhile, Diefenbaker Drive will see underground pipe connection work next week. There will be water service disruptions and drinking water advisories will be in effect at some locations. Those impacted by water service disruptions and drinking water advisories will be notified. Sanburn Construction is doing the pipe connection work.

105th Street – 11th to 12th Avenue, and 12th Avenue - 104th to 105th Street:

 Underground pipe work will go on another two to three weeks. Concrete repairs along 12th Avenue between 104th and 105th Streets was expected to begin this week. Water service disruptions, drinking water advisories and road closures will be in effect. Roadway reconstruction is scheduled for the following weeks along 105th Street. Unicon Pipeline is doing the underground pipe replacement and roadway work is being done by G&C Asphalt.

101st Street – 11th to 12th Avenue, and 12th Avenue – 100th Street to 101st Street:

The underground pipe work should be completed this week along 101st Street as service connection pipes to buildings are replaced. 101st Street between 11th and 12th Avenue will be closed to vehicles; sidewalks will remain open except in areas required to be removed to allow for pipe replacements. Most of the remaining sidewalk along 101st Street has been removed. Street reconstruction is expected to begin next week and go on for four weeks. Access to businesses from 101st Street will be closed during this period.

Again, service disruptions and drinking water advisories will be in effect and notifications sent out. Sanburn Construction is doing the undergrounds and G & C Asphalt the roadway work.

On July 24, underground pipe replacement work begins on 12th Avenue between 100th Street and 102nd Street and goes on three weeks, with roadway reconstruction work to follow. The 12th Avenue watermain replacement will be performed by Unicon Pipeline.

This will impede street access to businesses in the area, but businesses will still be open and operational and can be accessed through the alleyways.

97th Street – 13th to 15th Avenue:

Underground pipe replacement work begins July 17, lasting six weeks. Road closures and drinking water advisories will be in effect; roadway re-construction follows completion of the underground work for a further three weeks. Completion date is Sept. 22; underground work is by Sanburn Construction and the roadway work by G&C Asphalt.

99th Street – 12th to 13th Avenue:

Underground pipes replacement work starts Aug. 21, lasting three weeks. Road closures and drinking water advisories will be in effect. Roadway re-construction will follow; completion is expected by Oct. 6.  Again, undergrounds by Sanburn Construction, and roadway work by G&C Asphalt.

Killdeer Park Development:

Is seeing grading and concrete curb and sidewalk work for several weeks. G&C Asphalt is doing the roadway work.

Civic Centre Parking Lot:

The expectation is the reconstruction of the North Parking Lot behind the Civic Centre will be finished this week.  The area is open again to traffic while localized cleanup work is performed.   G&C Asphalt has the contract.

Centennial Park Pathway Paving:

Work is now complete, done by G&C Asphalt.

18th Ave/Diefenbaker Drive/St Laurent Drive - 100th Street to Mackenzie King Crescent – Roadways:

Expected to begin July 24, completed by Aug. 25. Road closures will be in effect; work is to be done by G&C Asphalt.

Henderson Drive/Amos Drive Lane - Buhler Ave to Territorial Drive:

Back alley construction to begin Aug. 14 with Sept. 8 completion by G&C Asphalt.

Airport CAP Runway 12-30 Resurfacing Project:

Work begins Sept. 5 with Sept. 22 completion, by G&C Asphalt.

The City urges motorists to use caution when travelling through the work zones, and respect the safety of workers.  The patience and understanding of the public, residents and businesses in effected areas is appreciated during these important rehabilitation projects.
