The National Film Board of Canada recently announced the North Battleford screenings of its co-production, nîpawistamâsowin - We Will Stand Up.
The award-winning, headline-making documentary follows the late Colten Boushie’s family on their quest for justice in the legal system.
The local screenings began Friday and will run through to Thursday, June 27 at the Capitol Theatre, with film times of 7 p.m.
Director and educator Tasha Hubbard (Birth of a Family) presents her personal reflection on the death of Colten Boushie, a young Cree man, and the subsequent trial and acquittal of the man who shot him.
The film currently holds No. 2 in the Canadian Box Office numbers.
