Battlefords and District Community Foundation established the Caring Communities Fund several years ago to provide funding support for identified needs in the community.

In these challenging times, there will be an increase in the need for services provided by charities who serve the community’s most vulnerable citizens.

In order to ensure these agencies can continue with their valuable work, BDCF encourages everyone to consider supporting these groups, whether it is cash donations, food or volunteer time.

“With the schools closing, many children in our community will not have access to the breakfasts and lunches provided by the schools,” said Rob Rongve, chair of the board of directors for BDCF. “And groups like the food bank and the Lighthouse will be stretched past their limits.”

A donation to the Caring Communities Fund will go directly to the agency the donor identified. If a specific agency isn’t specified, BDCF will ensure the money goes where there is the greatest need. The foundation will continue to provide flexible donation options including by e-transfer and regular mail.
