The Town of Battleford has accepted a bid of $4,433.41 from Modern Janitorial Services for a new carpet cleaner for the Alex Dillabough Centre.
Parks and Recreation Director Jordan Schechtel recommended to town council at the last meeting that, even though it was $185 higher than the next highest of five bids, that the unit with the higher tank capacity be purchased.
“It’s just a better machine,” he said.
The tenders from five janitorial suppliers asked to provide quotes ranged from $4,200 to $5,500, taxes not included. In addition to the successful Modern Janitorial Services, bids were received by NB Environment, Kemsol Products Limited, Pinnacle Distribution and Planet Clean.
The cost came in under budget. An amount of $5,250 had been allowed for in the 2015 budget.
