Centennial celebration receives gov't boost

The Village of Marcelin is preparing for its centennial celebrations to take place July 29-31 of this year. A recent announcement by Maurice Vellacott Conservative Member of Parliament for Saskatoon-Wanuskewin confirms funding assistance.

The Village of Marcelin is preparing for its centennial celebrations to take place July 29-31 of this year.

A recent announcement by Maurice Vellacott Conservative Member of Parliament for Saskatoon-Wanuskewin confirms funding assistance.

"Our government is proud to support the Marcelin centennial celebration," said Vellacott. "By partnering with communities to support activities that celebrate our shared history and our rich cultural diversity, we are fulfilling our commitment to strengthen our communities and support arts, culture and heritage."

The Marcelin centennial committee, chaired by Melissa Verbonac, will receive funding of $8,400 to assist with its centennial celebration.
