The City of North Battleford will be celebrating its 2013 Centennial with 500 collector's edition series coins.
The coins will be produced in time for 2013 and will go on sale to the public. They are to feature the 2013 Centennial logo on one side and the City's coat of arms on the other.
At Monday's council meeting Darren Olson of the centennial committee was seeking permission to use the city's Coat of Arms on the coins.
Council quickly decided to grant permission and moved and passed a resolution to that effect unanimously.
The coins will be part of the centennial celebrations that will be taking place throughout North Battleford in 2013. Plans are in the works for several public events to celebrate the 100th anniversary of North Battleford's incorporation as a city, beginning on New Year's Eve.
